FELL CLUB
Members Notice Board
Change of Webmaster at 2011 AGM
See Contacts page for my details. Alan Lord did a grand job on the website, and I will find it a difficult act to follow. The website is currently in transit between one hosting company and another [Done]. When this is complete, my first job will be to reinstate some form of on-line payment for membership. [The government has subsequently reprieved cheques, so this is on the 'back burner'.]
I will be posting the 2011 AGM Minutes on here when available. Please send notices of meets, etc. to me for inclusion on the website. Your comments on the website will be welcome, but please bear in mind that I am a volunteer, my time is limited, and the hosting package is limited in space and facilities by what the club can afford. Those who suggest very practical and achievable improvements to the website may of course be lining themselves up as my replacement!
Meanwhile, get out there and enjoy your camping. (Reports to Magazine Editor and myself, please!)

Cotswold Camping have agreed to give 15% + discount to Fell Club members making purchases at any of their shops or from their website. In addition to quoting your membership number you will need to quote T2136 in order to get the best discount. Please use this service when possible and save yourself some money.
Gas availability abroad
The lack of Coleman and MSR Gas in France has been the subject of many previous discussions, screw top canisters are getting more and more difficult to find. Easy to find are the Camping Gaz push on and the always available 190gm puncture-style cartridge. To use these cartridges with screw on stoves you will need an adaptor. Edelrid formally Markhill do 2 different adapters to use with screw fitted stoves. The Cartridge adapter, takes the puncture-style 190 gram cartridges and is much smaller and lighter than the Karrimor equivalent. Also Edelrid do an adapter to allow the use of Camping Gaz sealable canisters on screw threaded stoves. If using a gas stove other than a Camping Gaz, either or both adapters would be a sensible choice to take on a tour abroad.
Both of these can be obtained by mail order from Ultralight Outdoor Gear http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/home.html post free.
